Mistakes and Learning
We all commit mistakes during our life on earth. Most of us dislike them as we see them as our failures. And who wants to fail in life?
We always thrive for success, favourable results and winning. But we often forget the fact that we can’t yield positive results without improving and living the process. We need to understand that mistakes are simply a part of the learning process. They help us learn lessons and form a better sense of judgment.
We opine that by undertaking any job usually, we get two types of implications – favourable and unfavourable. According to us, mistakes and failures fall under the latter. They are often regarded as the negative outcome we get after following our process.
But in reality, the unfriendly out-turn isn’t a form of the result as it isn’t the endpoint of our process, like success. It is just an indicator of the potential gaps that are keeping us away from our desired success. In fact, failure always means that there is scope for improvement. This implies that the second category of unfavourable results is all mind-made and is mere our perception.
Also, I believe results are always beyond our control. What is in our hands is our effort and response in any given situation. When we focus too much on the things we can’t manage, uncertainty creeps in that ultimately results in hopelessness.
Hence, at the end of the day, the choice is always ours: whether we want to focus on growth, learning, and improvement or hopelessness, despair and misery.
What are your views on it? Do you perceive your shortcomings as a chance for growth or misfortune? Do you like to be at the mercy of destiny by playing the victim card or you accept your mistakes and work on them instead of complaining about them?
Food for thought! Think it, Feel it and Question it.
“Learning by making mistakes and not duplicating them is what life is all about.” – Lindsay Fox
A nice article well articulated by you dear.
It’s true that we consider mistakes as our inability and failure. You see, how successful people transform their failures into inventions. One well-known example is Einstein. We need some motivation to change our mindset. It’s just a state of mind that committing mistakes means failure. In fact, mistakes are the baby steps in the success ladder. No Achievement and success can b accomplished without mistakes because no one is perfect. Always learn from mistakes should be our motto to gain success. FAIL means the first attempt in learning and rightly so.
Thank you so much! 🙂 I am thanking you not for your appreciation but for your beautiful insights. Loved it <3
